what we do:
CONNECT.
We are simply people helping people. We listen to those who have been affected by the disease of addiction and assess their needs. We then offer our assistance through connecting them to recovery facilities, support groups, agencies, or other recovery or family support related entity.
Recovery Events
“I didn’t know recovery could be fun!” ~ said a person who attends our recovery events. That’s why we hold sober events for those in recovery.
Recovery events will be in the CSO HUB ~
Our recovery events give those in recovery a place to socialize and have fun in a sober environment. We do bowling, karaoke night, movies, bingo night, football game watch, picnics, and concerts! With our new CSO HUB, we plan to do most of those activities in our new place and to add game nights and more Recovery Events.
Some of our Events
Bowling Night on Sept 20th at Groton Bowling Center
Bingo held at Recovery 12 in New London
Karaoke Night held at Groton Elks
On December 17, 2024, we became owners of the property at 124 North St., Groton. This purchase was driven by the urgent need for an infrastructure that will serve the recovery community. Our goal is to create a sustainable space to allow individuals to grow and maintain their recovery. The new Community Speaks Out Hub will be a central place for individuals and families in desperate need of a safe place to get the support they need.
CSO Bridge to Recovery Walk fundraiser was held on May 31st. It was quite the walk! We’ll be doing again next year ~ come join us.

Sober Softball Tournament
This year’s sober softball tournament was held on Sunday June 29th at Washington Park, Groton. We had 8 teams with games starting at 9 am.
Sober Softball Tournament is an annual sober event honoring those we’ve lost to addiction while also showing that recovery is possible. There were 8 teams playing, each team honoring people we have lost to overdose. After the tournament, we held a candlelight vigil.
The 9 people honored were: Tyler Pierce, Mike Sole, Lauren Trostler, Kenny Grenier, Jose “Nuny” Alvarado, April Hurd, James Labbe and Joe & Ashlea Piela.
