RECOVERY EVENTS

As our organization has grown, we have seen first hand in our community that recovery is possible. We realize there is no single path to recovery. It is likely, however, that each individual will have a recovery journey that is both non-linear and unique, that will include ups and downs, spiritual tests and emotional roller coasters. With that in mind, CSO is committed to continue to be a resource for those in all stages of recovery. Below is a list of some of the recovery activities and events we have recently sponsored.

Please see the CSO Calendar for upcoming Recovery Events.

christopher johns sober softball tournament—annual since 2016

Washington Park—Groton, CT

Invited organizations that participate in this annual tournament include Teen Challenge; and Today I Matter Poster Project; as well as vendors like Kay’s Kart; Bridge Market; and Savage Spatula.

As we were not able to host the 2020 Annual Christopher Johns Memorial Sober Softball tournament, we decided to make a video. This was made in hopes that you catch a glimpse of the healing and community that takes place each year as we honor those we’ve lost, as well as the pain felt in losing a loved one who suffered from substance use disorder. When you see the faces of those we have honored over the years, you will see, addiction does not discriminate.

Please watch with an open heart and feel free to share, as we hope to end the stigma of addiction. If you stumble on this video in need of support, don't hesitate to reach out. Recovery is possible.
